Anyone playing? I grabbed it in epic as they are having a 33% off coupon.
It's different but immersive. It's more adventure\mystery than action.
I wasn't expecting playing a fat naked man in the beginning. Little too close to home

Re: Alan Wake 2
I want to play on the Xbox, but too expensive for now.
Loved the first one tho (it had some gameplay flaws, but the story and atmosphere were so cool, I didn't care) .

I really liked the first one but never finished it. Got drawn away by another shiny.

When in doubt, skewer it out...I don't know.

Re: Alan Wake 2
I've heard good things about this game. I know I enjoyed the original, but can't remember anything about the story or gameplay. This thread got me to add Alan Wake 2 to my wish list, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the remaster of the original is in my PS library. I must have grabbed it as a free monthly game somewhere along the way.
At some point if I pick up AW2 on sale maybe I'll go back and try the original again first.

I keep meaning to play the AWake games, but still haven't gotten around to it (especially now that they're creating other games in the same universe - like Control.)

Re: Alan Wake 2
I finally finished Alan Wake 2! It always takes me forever to complete these types of games because there’s so much meaning packed into every detail. I end up stopping to process things or lingering in areas, worried I’ll miss something.
Throughout the story, I kept thinking I was near the end, but every time, a twist would pop up and extend the journey. Tonight, I finally powered through to the credits, and then back on the main menu, I saw a new game mode called "The Final Draft."
I never replay games, but… am I actually going to play this one twice? I started it up, and right away, I noticed it felt different. The game changes based on what you know from the first playthrough, and even the cutscenes adapt, adding new layers since the writers know that you know what's coming. It’s not about choices; it’s that the narrative subtly shifts, adding fresh elements or insights. It totally fits with the story’s vibe and makes complete sense.
I also need to play the DLC. I loved Control, and the Lake House DLC looks like it continues that storyline.
Sam Lake deserves serious recognition for crafting all of this!
