Despite the fact that I've played Diablo and all it's iterations for over 20 years, I've never hit 100 with a character. My altoholism is way too strong, and I burn out on one toon so I can start another. In D4, I have a dozen characters, all in the 50-75 range, but never actually hit the triple digits. I finally hit 100 with my necro this season, and I can't wait for next season to start in October. New class, higher "level cap" and other changes make me excited to play again. Following the storyline to chase down Mephisto should be fun, and I'm seriously considering replaying the campaign with the new class to experience it from start to finish again.

Heres another pic of my Necro...I somehow got him to look like he is dressed in all plate metal armor with a skull and crown helm..hahaha I just noticed with the big pic that his pants dont fit the plate armor look...but in game he is so small it seems to fit the look better.

Started the new expansion. Not only is there a new class and zone but they changed many things about the base game. Too many changes to list.

I skipped the original campaign. The default is to skip it (if you completed it once). I'm playing through the expansion campaign. Fully reading all the dialog and watching the cut scenes. It's very good and I'm engaged in it. Also, try to complete first couple of seasonal quests and don't forget about your character's questline that starts around level 15. Mix those in with the expansion campaign.

The game overall seems much more refined and polished. The flow of the game feels good and there's more than enough to do. Probably how it should have been at the start of the release last year.

I really like the new monsters and boss fights.

Anyone having crashes? I seem to have a random crash each time I play. It will be fine then the game is gone and Im staring at my desktop with the Battlenet launcher open and instead of a PLAY button it says I am playing..after a few seconds it turns to a PLAY button again and I can re enter. Getting annoying it happens so much.....sometimes theres an error box sometimes not.

No crashes here.

Just figured out there is no capstone dungeon per se and there are two levels above hard....I thought leveling had slowed considerably :D

and wow materials are scarce or things cost more now...either much more strategic on tempering and such

Edit - Got disconnected tonight with no reconnection until I closed out

Also have played for the past two days (granted, only a couple hours at a time) and it actually seems MORE stable for me than it has recently. No crashes. Still haven't really gotten a handle on how to play the new class. Or maybe I just haven't found my foothold yet. All of the skills seem good, barriers with gorilla, guaranteed vulnerable skills with eagle, tons of poison with centipede, and secondary explosion damage with jaguar. Passive skills are also really, really good.

Paralysis by analysis...

No stability issues on PS5.

I was going to play the full campaign again but decided to just jump into the xpac instead. Liking the new class, but definitely need to look up some build info. Am I supposed to be mixing multiple animal’s skills or is it better to stick with one? I went all centipede and it has worked so far, but I’m early on (lvl 22).

'Watch' the stream for a particular length of time, get a code for something for the game.

More accurately, you sign in to Twitch and link your Twitch and Blizzard accounts (or Steam accounts, or whatever.) You then watch for a length of time (anywhere between 15 minutes and 6 hours.)

Image

Then you click 'claim' and get rewards automatically delivered to the game.

Image

All 'watch' means is that the stream needs to be open and be the active tab in it's browser. You don't need to actually watch it - you can have the window in the background, on a different system, on a phone, whatever - and you can 'watch' it overnight or while you're gone (although if the streamer changes games or stops streaming, your progress halts until you find a new stream.) I've claimed a ton of items for a ton of games this way. Personally, I set the resolution of the stream to 160 so it isn't using any bandwidth and put it on my second monitor in the background.

It's free, and doesn't require a Prime sub.

Finished the xpac campaign today. Really cool and engaging story…with a really abrupt cliffhanger ending that I didn’t love. The new class was great and lots of fun to play. Wasn’t terribly long, took about 15 hours and that was with one night of just running around doing Helltide stuff.

I’ll probably fiddle around with it for a couple days while I wait for New World, but the Season stuff never keeps my interest for very long.

I do think I’ve figured out why I like but don’t really love D4, and it has mostly to do with how easy it is to customize gear. Because there are SO many customization options, you can basically turn any piece of gear into any other piece of gear with enough gold and mats. That makes the gear drops totally uninteresting, almost to the point of being trivial. It doesn’t really matter what drops because I can do multiple forms of enchanting or runes/gem additions to make it entirely different. Takes all the fun and excitement out of getting a drop because it’s mostly meaningless.

I’m sure those who are all about grinding into the upper difficulty levels love the customization, but for those of us casuals, it just makes the whole gear aspect kinda “meh”.

Haven't finished the campaign but I did hit 60 yesterday. I have been getting distracted by all the various activities that are now different. Realm Walker events, the changes to nightmare dungeons, plus wandering around the new zone. Oh and the rune word thing.
Leveling seemed slower with the changes and understanding that a plus change to damage is now significant took some getting used to as did the new difficulty levels.
Overall it is entertaining so far and feels a lot like the fully fleshed out D3 now

I did start to notice some tech issues toward the end of the campaign. A few crashes back to the PS5 dashboard, some bad rubber-banding when crossing into a new area, getting stuck on the environment multiple times, and two instances where quest givers wouldn’t trigger dialog.

I am SO enjoying this new add-on. Just taking my time strolling around doing stuff and finding stuff ....stumbling on new side quests Ive never done. Just now I was focusing on clearing a side quest which lead me to a fogged area of the map. Most times I walk and fight stuff to gain exp as I go now instead of horsing it every where unless its a long way off ...and an even longer way off I teleportal to that area. Anyways I came upon keep with a red skull marked on the map. I cant recall what all the markings mean these days so I just sauntered in and did the little 4 interactive points that made ghost enemies spawn. Fought them all off then did the 5th one that summoned the main boss for that keep and used all my new guys stuff to beat it.

Then after all the keep was cleared and the quest was done I saw there was still a small marker on my map for something there in a room. There was nothing or no one around me when I clicked the object....then suddenly its sorta melded into a players keep and other players were there around me running about doing their own things. Sorta a watering hole oasis to go to and go from there thing., It was subtle but neat how it did it all. I loved it!

It's a stronghold. When you clear it, it becomes a player town (most - some become dungeons.) It's pretty much the same as the strongholds in the base game.

I still haven't finished the campaign but am 60 (75) already I keep getting distracted. The Pit is much easier now and levels glyphs. Nightmare dungeons get you tempering materials and my goodness Infernal hordes, if you get at least 200 thingies, give amazing gear from the chest. Tree of whispers rewards are at least 2M sometimes 10M gold.
Entertaining for now but not sure if alts will be as fun....though they will level fast now that I am at 360% xp for kills

Im having more trouble with choosing armor that is dropping. Usually I end up finding the orange legendary stuff and its a;ways better so keep it wear it and upgrade it. But here already Ive found almost a full set of legendary but as I play Im still finding yellows better than it minus say the legendary stat. So Im confused as to what to wear lol. Ive kinda decided to get switch for the better armor yellow stuff, salvage the legendaries for look and hope I keep finding better or a better legendary down the road.

Read a Maxroll guide. They'll go into detail about stats. (Apparently their URL format confuses bbcode with all of the brackets - the entire thing below is the link.)

[filters][0][taxonomy]=taxonomies.build_guide_type&filter[build_guide_type][filters][0][value]=archive&filter[build_guide_type][filters][0][operation]=!%3D&filter[build_guide_type][filters][1][taxonomy]=taxonomies.build_guide_type&filter[build_guide_type][filters][1][value]=%20&filter[build_guide_type][filters][1][operation]=NOT%20EXISTS&filter[build_guide_typ]=]HERE.

Find the one that's closest to how you're building, and feel free to ignore the build itself - just read up on the stats and gear. For example, one chosen at random:

Don't forget any yellow can be increased to legendary and you get to pick the improvement. Native legendaries are better however, because they have more perks than a yellow turned legendary. The other thing that makes legendaries better is that it can have two tempers applied which you don't want to forget to do with your legendaries

Which is exactly why they make those guides - it's someone else doing the math and just giving you the answers. You can just check the list, hit 'upgrade' and be back out fighting.
